How to increase ranking with one little effort #3

Want some easy Google credits, free drive to the future? No problem.

New Google Toolbar

Many experts include me believing that Google is seeking new rankling methods. The first idea came from Collaborative Ranking, or tagging system. In their own words, €œUsers on who give meaningful tags to helpful/timely URLs (as evidenced by others subsequently doing the same) will be rewarded with higher Collaborative Rank, which means that their tagging will have greater influence on this search engine€™s rankings.€ – Well, the tagging or collaborative ranking is far from being perfect. Look here at this PDF file Cheat Sheet (I didn’t write it) to see what I mean! More details at Google Groups.

I’m speaking about new Google Toolbar with its new Bookmark, Share Pages, and Voting buttons. Google says: “Voting buttons: If you especially like or dislike a web page you’re visiting and want to share your opinion with Google, you can vote thumbs up by clicking the happy face or thumbs down by clicking the unhappy face. These buttons can also be used to report especially useful or unsatisfactory results after searching with Google. Just click the appropriate button while you’re still on the results page. This feature is currently in test mode, so you will not notice any immediate effects based on your action, other than experiencing a warm sense of satisfaction from having shared your feelings with people who really do care.

What do do?

google-bookmarkInstall or upgrade Google Toolbar here. Drive to your favorite websites (your own, hey) and save them on Google Bookmarks. Don’t forget to include your wish-list keywords in the Tag Line. Next, click on the smiley voting button Google Voting and you almost done. Send different pages/products from your website to customers by clicking on the share web pages “Share web pages with friends” button to maximize your future ranking.

What if I can’t see the above buttons?

One Warning – Don’t get carried away! It is not a good idea to exceed a too much votes on one day. Ask your employees, friends, or your clients who love you.

What else can you do with no risk at all?

Why not put a hyperlink or icon on your site encouraging visitors to bookmark the page. I’m waiting for somebody to write a javascript so users can instantly adds a bookmark (Netscape) or favorite (IE) to the visitor’s browser. Meanwhile find another way or incentive to encourage visitors to Bookmark and Vote for your site.
Other stuff to put on your Toolbar

I highly recommended to opt-in the Google PageRank option.

PageRank is a numeric value that represents how important a page is on the web. Google figures that when one page links to another page, it is effectively casting a vote for the other page. The more votes that are cast for a page, the more important the page must be. Also, the importance of the page that is casting the vote determines how important the vote itself is. Google calculates a page’s importance from the votes cast for it. How important each vote is taken into account when a page’s PageRank is calculated.

To turn it on, Click on the green circle button and choose “options”. Check the option as it appear in the right picture.
